ADOPTION & RETENTION SCALABILITY SELF-SERVE SYSTEMS SELF-PACED SYSTEMS HANDS-ON LEARNING PROTOTYPING PRODUCT USE CASES INFLUENCE WITHOUT AUTHORITY
The Challenge
Minimal and ineffectively placed UX guidance existed to onboard new players to online gaming controls, blockchain concepts, and claiming digital rewards. Creator template games focused on features and lacked starting point, learning flow, and key concepts.
Key Learnings
Self-serve hands-on learning lowers barriers for complex concepts and reduces support load at scale.
Goal & Objectives
Create engaging, hands-on learning for stickiness
Teach key platform concepts via play for Web3 readiness
Teach key concepts and tools via play for creators
Scale onboarding without 1:1 support
My Role & Approach
Built prototypes, networked with CPO and Art team to get onboarding games for players greenlit for production. Converted bootcamp content into games for creators.
Key Deliverables
6 player focused always-on educational games for onboarding
A prototype of a player focused game (greenlit)
A prototype of a creator focused template with responsive play/build learning loop logic (not greenlit, existing templates preferred)
3 Play to Learn games with official beginner bootcamp content adapted for self-paced exploration, published in the creator gallery
Results & Impact
Achieved 100K+ plays, improving new user activation and onboarding UX
Reduced friction in complex concept adoption through play-based, self-serve learning
Scaled onboarding reach without proportional 1:1 support
Influenced the creator community to build educational games
