The Challenge

Logic templates lacked a starting point and flow for self-serve onboarding to core systems and logic design. The team owning templates declined UX recommendations, so a different hands-on method was needed.

Goal & Objectives

  • Deliver accessible onboarding for beginner game creators
  • Teach core systems, concepts, and common logic patterns
  • Support self-serve learning at scale

My Role & Approach

Wrote scripts, directed recording, designed complementary text versions with video embeds, next-step resources to bridge into Game Jam readiness, and forum posts per video for evergreen support from community members.

Key Deliverables

  • 8-video series (1 hour total) as a standalone YouTube playlist
  • Public docs embed with text guides, resources for next steps, and forum posts
  • Video series embed in the Game Maker application for easy access

Results & Impact

  • Produced 1 hour self-paced “Begin Game Maker” 8-video series and text guidance that accelerated onboarding and foundational logic mastery
  • Embedded videos directly in public documentation and the Game Maker application, enabling self-serve progression at scale
  • Reduced entry-level support tickets and improved new creator success rates
  • Supported faster feature adoption through structured, accessible learning paths

Key Learnings

Self-paced structured content with clear progression embedded in FTUE flows outperforms scattered resources.

Tools & Technologies

DaVinci Resolve, Notion, YouTube

Collaboration Highlights

External video producer, Marketing, Creator Program, Product (update alignment), and internal reviewers
